What is an account and a user profile?

As to your client data, we’ll operate two notions inside Websa as follows:

  • Your account
  • Your user profile

Account

Your account is an organizational unit to represent your whole legal entity and to unite all your users. It means that an account legal name, account contacts and any other settings affect all of your users. All of your Websa resources (like Cloud servers, CDN resources, Cloud storage buckets, DNS zones, Dedicated servers etc.) belong to your account, namely your account is billed for using all of them. All of your users (Technical Managers, Billing Managers and so on) belong to your account. Pay attention, any user belongs to one and only one account, multiple membership in many accounts is not allowed. Also, your account may be a personal account or a company account. To know the difference between these types, please read this chapter

So accounts don’t have logins or passwords and that’s why an account can not “sign in” to Websa itself, only users of this account can.

You can see all your account data on the Account Settings page as follows

User profile

Your user profile is an object to represent you (as well as any user of your account) as a person. It means for example your personal name, users roles, personal contacts or security settings. Any user has a login and a password and that’s why only users can sign in to the account these users belong to in Websa. Pay attention, any user belongs to one and only one account, multiple memberships in many accounts is not allowed.

Any user must have some user role to be able to perform any operation in Websa. To know more about user roles, please read this chapter

You can see all your user profile data on the User profile page as follows
